The laid back parents guide to teaching your child to read

At first I thought of titling this article "The Lazy Parent's Guide" but then I realized that most parents aren't lazy, but they may have a slightly different philosophy about children and learning.

If you're a big reader yourself or if you're homeschooling, you're probably concerned about how to teach your child to read. Reading is one of the most important skills a person can learn, and a great joy in life.

My laid-back methods of teaching a child to read:

1) Be a reader yourself

Children naturally want to copy adult behavior. If your kids see you often with your nose in a book, they will probably begin to wonder what is so interesting about this activity.

2) Read to your kids

This is probably a huge no-brainer. Read to your kids early and often. And don't read in order to "teach your child how to read". I believe that the best way to teach your child to read is to NOT teach your child to read!

Read to your child because you enjoy it and it's fun. Some forward-thinking education experts believe that the teaching of reading is mostly what prevents reading. After all, don't adults read as a means to an end? Because they want to learn something or because they enjoy the act of reading?

3) Don't worry so much

Don't worry about a right or wrong way of reading to your child.

If your preschool-age child isn't interested in books yet, or won't sit still for more than 30 seconds to finish a story, don't fret.

If your 3 year old wants to point at pictures or turn to favorite pages and ask a million questions, don't fuss.

Children learn in different ways than adults do and I don't think anyone knows enough about the human mind to figure it all out. Make reading together pleasant, not stressful.

And don't worry about how old your child is when they learn to read. If they're reading at 3 or at 8, studies show that it makes little difference in their intelligence or ability by the time they reach middle school.

4) Pick topics that interest your child

My oldest son's interest in reading really skyrocketed when we started the Series of Unfortunate Events books by Lemony Snicket. We would sit for hours and read aloud together when he was only 5 or 6. Visit Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events for more information about these books.

These books were technically above his age level, but I advise you to forget all that.

John Holt, the legendary educator and author, has been quoted as saying:

"It’s nice to have children’s books, but far too many of them have too much in the way of pictures. When children see books, as they do in the family where the adults read, with pages and pages and pages of print, it becomes pretty clear that if you’re going to find out what’s in those books, you’re going to have to read from that print. I don’t think there’s any way to make reading interesting to children in a family in which it isn’t interesting to adults."

So let your child pick books from the library or bookstore and don't concern yourself about whether the titles are "age appropriate".

5) Strictly limit TV and other electronic media

A growing body of evidence is pointing to the fact that TV, video games and computer usage are hurting our children's interest in reading. TV and video games rewire the brain and teach it to be lazy. Reading is much more work, because the mind can't be passive while engaging in it (unlike plug-in entertainment). Kids who get bored are more likely to pick up a book.

Above all, have fun snuggling up with your child and enjoy reading together!

Acne

Remedies For A Smoother Skin.

Do you have acne ? Acne maybe the scourge of adolescent years, but it can follow people into middle age and beyond.

Acne is really a catchall term for a variety of symptoms such as pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads. It's a condition where the pores of skin become clogged and the person gets inflamed and non-inflamed lesions.

So what's the cause of all the clogging ?......

Heredity - at least for the most part. Acne is genetic - it tends to run in families, it is an inherited defect of your pores. If both your parents had acne, three out of four of your brothers and sisters will get it too.

Factors that can aggravate an acne outbreak are :- Stress, sun exposure, seasonal changes, and climate can all precipitate an acne attack. Certain types of makeup and taking birth control pills can also cause a breakout.

Change Your Make-up

In adult women, make-up is the major factor in acne outbreaks, especially oil based products. It's the oil that causes the problem. The oil is usually a derivative of fatty acids that are more potent than your own fatty acids. Use a non-oil-based make-up if you are prone to acne.

Read The labels.

Cosmetic products that contain lanolins, isopropyl myristate, sodium lauryl sulphate, laureth-4 and D & C red dyes should be avoided. Like oil, these ingredients are too rich for the skin.

Wash Properly.

Wash your make-up off thoroughly every night. Use a mild soap twice a day and make sure you rinse the soap entirely off your face. Rinse six or seven times with fresh water.

Use Less Make-up.

Whatever make-up you use, try to cut down on the amount you put on.

Leave Well Alone.

Don't squeeze pimples or whiteheads. A pimple is an inflammation, and you could add to the inflammation by squeezing it, which could lead to an infection. A pimple will always go away in one to four weeks if you leave them alone.

Know When To Squeeze.

Most pimples are best left alone, but there is one kind that you can squeeze to help get rid of it. If the pimple has a little central yellow pus head in it, then a gentle squeeze will make it pop open very nicely. Once the pus pops out, the pimple will heal more quickly.

Attack Blackheads.

You can also get rid of blackheads by squeezing them. A blackhead is a very blocked pore, and a gentle squeeze will help rectifty this.

Give Dry Skin Extra Care.

Dry skin can be sensitive to some over the counter skin treatments, so please use these treatments with care. Start with the lower strength products first, and then increase the concentration slowly.

Stay Out Of The Sun.

Acne medications may cause adverse reactions to the sun, so minimize you exposure until you know what the reactions going to be.

Use One Treatment At A Time.

Don't mix treatments, use only one at a time because they may cause an adverse reaction if mixed together.

Stop The Spread Of Acne.

Apply acne medication about half an inch around the affected area, to help keep the acne from spreading. Acne moves across the face from the nose to the ear, so you need to treat beyond the inflamed area. Most people make the mistake of treating only the pimples and not the outlaying areas of skin. This is wrong.

If you are an acne sufferer, then I trust this information will be very helpful to you. Thanks for reading my article. acne-information-guide. com

Essential wedding accessories - inject beauty into the eyes of the beholder

Wedding accessories are so important when it comes down to adding the finishing touches to the bridal attire. If you think the bridal look is complete without wedding accessories then I urge you to think again. Wedding gowns need garnishing with elegance and this is achieved by choosing the right essential wedding accessories.

Wedding veils

Watch how the veil sets the scene and speaks volumes as it is nurtured onto the head expelling radiance and beauty. An amazing transformation transpires for the bride once the veil is positioned

Design/style of your chosen gown will help you decide on what veil is best suitable. Traditional veils normally measure approx three and half yards long, in saying that remember this is your day and if you want your veil trailing along the floor then so be it.

Shoes & stockings

Crucial elements are shoes/stockings for the overall look on your wedding day. Before deciding on a pretty shoe because it looks good be sure to try it for comfort as you will be wearing them for the best part of the day. Shoes made of velvet, satin or silk are materials which once again are a common choice made by brides.

Jewelry

Aside from the wedding band/ring consider Jewelry pieces like Grace Kelly pearl peepers with a matching string of pearls to compliment the gown, Jewelry selections as such just oozes and injects elegance, in fact adding glamour in a tasteful feminine way.

Headpieces

Diamante headbands and Juliet caps are generally used to hold the wedding veil in place. All brides' requirements have been catered for when looking for essential accessories in bridal shops from plain to bling bling. Crystals/pearls hold strong in a brides mind therefore dominating her way of thinking on designs and styles for her wedding gown and accessories.

Star attraction headpieces has to be the tiara all of a shimmer and glimmer.

Gloves

Another accessory that must not to be ignored especially if the wedding gown is off the shoulder/sleeveless, is gloves. Word has it the shorter the sleeve the longer the glove.

Gloves simply conjure up an air of sophistication to any bridal outfit.

Wedding accessories are just as important as your gown so the right choice has to be made to look a million dollars

An honest friend is the best companion to have with you when out shopping for what to wear on your wedding day; it can also help ease pressure.

Just a little friendly warning, make sure the friend you have chosen to help in your bid to look beautiful is not one of your boyfriends old flames.

Pandemonium book review

Within the first few pages, I was engrossed and deeply moved by Apina Hrbek’s eloquent writing skills. Tears of compassion were in my eyes at several points in this moving story of survival.

The main character, Edita, was raised by a heartless mother who became twisted after helplessly watching the communist government steal her family’s vast fortune. Her nonconformist father was her only source of comfort and it was from him that she learned about these forbidden things called "choice" and "freedom".

The setting is a land under strict Soviet rule where people are in a constant state of fright and can not afford to trust anyone – not even their own kin. To trust was an invitation for disaster.

The story of their escape to a land of freedom was wrought with circumstances going wrong – and yet it all worked out in the end. Resettling in a place where they must learn new customs, new languages and find employment to support their small family was no easy task for Edita and her husband. Through poverty and displacement, the family struggled to find their dreams and learn how to deal with this new idea - the freedom to make choices.

Pandemonium is certainly an educational book that may be beneficial for children and grand children of immigrants who wish to understand what it was like. It also could serve as a useful reminder to appreciate, protect and expand upon the rights of all mankind.

A buyers guide to motor scooters

Before the 1920s it was an easy decision, a foot-powered push scooter or none at all. But once Gino Tsai from Shanghai, Taiwan developed the Razor scooter it changed everything. His motor scooters became popular so quickly there were people waiting in line for six months before they could get one.

In the 1950s companies like Vespa in the UK started selling the first of their gas motor scooters. It was a big hit at the 1950 Motorcycle Show and quickly became a big hit in the UK as well. Vespa sold over 125,000 in the UK between the years of 1950 to 1958. Piaggio from Vespa and Lambretta from Innocenti started selling their models in Italy and France too, quickly becoming the vehicles that everyone had to own. By the early 1950s the sale of motor scooters topped 1 million a year in France alone. Because of its popularity other countries such as France and Germany decided to get in on the boom by manufacturing their own models.

Today, after more than 50 years since the first gas scooters appeared, there are many different makes and models. We have electric, gas powered, foldable, mobility and utility motor scooters dotting the globe. There are specialized scooters for just about every task. They have become a worldwide phenomenon because they are cheap to own, economical to operate, are very handy and functional, and most of all they are a lot of fun. But with all of the makes and models which one is right for you?

Let's start with the different types. Gas motor scooters are the fastest around. They will take you longer distances and reach higher speeds than any of the other varieties. There are smaller and lighter models that will be perfect for running errands around town while the larger and heavier touring models will take you on longer trips. Plus, the larger the gas tank the farther you can travel before needing to stop at a service station.

Electric varieties are a little more economical to run, but will usually travel only about 10 or 15 miles before needing a recharge. Their battery capacity has improved dramatically over the years, but they cannot be taken for long trips due to the fact that their batteries will need recharging periodically. However, for short trips around the city they are wonderful little vehicles. Plus, most scooters have a large storage capacity under the seat so they are ideal for trips to the grocery store or for other light shopping sprees.

The elderly or handicapped typically use what is referred to as mobility scooters. These are usually electric models and have 3 or 4 wheels for extra stability. These models give the elderly or disabled the ability to get about in their homes or around the neighborhood more easily. Without mobility scooters many of the disability-impaired would be confined to their beds.

Another very popular type is the foldable scooter. These are very small and are made for short trips around town. They are particularly popular among the younger crowds. The beauty of these models is that they are extremely compact and can be folded for storage in small places. If you work just a few miles from your home you can travel to work on your folding scooter and then fold it up and put it underneath your desk at work. Very handy.

There are also utility scooters which can be used for many different purposes. They can be used as golf carts or for hauling things. Many big businesses use these types for getting around their factories. Schools use them for driving through the parking lot, checking for cars that shouldn't be there. Major league sports stadiums use them to drive people from one place to another. These are wonderful vehicles that can be used for a variety of reasons.

Once you've decided which type is right for your needs the next step is to figure out what options, if any, you would like included on your vehicle. Of course you can choose from many different colors and designs, but there are other options available to you. You can choose from the many varieties of covers, locks (for security), cases or side bags for storage, helmets, seats, handgrips, windshields or windscreens, backrests for touring, chrome kits, rear luggage racks and many more options. The list of accessories can go on for quite some time.

As a rule of thumb first choose the type of scooter you want, whether it be electric, gas, foldable or utility. This is the easy part because the type you purchase will depend upon your needs. Once that decision has been made look at several popular models in your area and decide which one looks and feels right to you. Most have accessories that are manufactured for a specific model so accessories cannot be decided upon until you know which motor scooter you are going to buy. Once you've decided which accessories you want for the model you chose it's a simple matter of driving your scooter out of the dealership. And it's nothing but fun from there on out.

Make a move you can be proud of and get a debt consolidation loan

One of the often ignored side-effects of being in debt over your head is paralysis – the inability to take action to change your circumstances. Most people struggle on trying to make the many monthly payments they are responsible for and are unaware that a debt consolidation loan could be their solution. If this is you, take a step back from your problem. Ask yourself what reasonable repayments would be on one lower interest loan for a fixed term of between six to ten years. Most financial institutions provide repayment calculators on their websites that can be adjusted for different interest rates. Compare what you are currently repaying to your new calculations. How much will you save?

Doing nothing will make your current situation worse. The longer you take to make a decision to consolidate all your debt into one debt consolidation loan, the more money you will be unnecessarily spending to service your debt. As you have probably already discovered, the high repayments associated with multiple credit card debt and other loans can cause stress related illnesses and disorders such as depression and anxiety.

Most people look at how they can make more money or cut general living expenses in order to be able to make the often spiraling payments and do not consider how they can reduce their debt repayments. In fact, few people know they can. Yet, the single best decision you can make if you are struggling with debt repayments is to get a debt consolidation loan. Not only will this immediately reduce monthly debt costs, it will provide a fixed term after which you’ll be debt free. With credit cards and lines of credit you can continue to re-draw and may never be debt free.

A debt consolidation loan can be your ticket to financial freedom and a brighter future. If you don’t know how to go about getting a debt consolidation loan, there are many debt counselors and debt consolidation services available online who can help you find the best debt consolidation loan to suit your personal circumstances. You can find them by doing an internet search. Alternatively, look in your local yellow pages in the index for debt consolidation services and you should find some people to phone.

The first step is to take action. Find out what you can and make a decision to solve your problem. Taking all the steps required to consolidate your debt into one debt consolidation loan will be one of the best decisions you are likely to make. It is a choice for financial freedom and a brighter future.

Indigo not just another color

Do you know the colors of the rainbow by heart? I guess you have encountered the acronym ROYGBIV to remember the colors of the rainbow. Let me guess? You might answer R for red, O for orange, Y for yellow, and so on. How about the I? Probably one of the not so common color that we encounter in our everyday life is the color INDIGO. Indigo got its name from a plant once used by the ancient Maya people for dyeing cloth. Mayan people used indigo because it was supposed to have a soothing effect on pregnant women and unborn babies. It is one of the oldest dye colors used in traditional printing and textile production. Today, it is primarily used for coloring the cloth for blue jeans or denims.

More than just an ancient dye color or one of the colors of the rainbow, indigo is no used as a color code for human personality. Individuals or “indigo personality types” are supposed to have unique psychological attributes that are normally exhibited starting from childhood. According to Nancy Anne Tappe, a “life color guru”, people with this personality are extraordinary, independent, and to some degree, even rebellious. In her book “Understanding Your Life Through Color”, Tappe said that individuals classified under this personality type are intelligent, possess remarkable memory, and tend to insist on doing things their own way. Being unconventional, they always try to do groundbreaking work in school and at work.

Indigo children are very sensitive, expressive and some may have psychic abilities. However, a child with this personality type may develop emotional problems, attention deficit disorder, or worse, violent tendencies. These children are expected to refuse traditional ways of learning or conventional knowledge. Most likely, they will try to show their teachers a “better way” of learning in school. Being headstrong, they do not like to be told what to do and they insist on getting their own way.

Research indicates that a majority of “Indigos” were born during the 1970s. Today, many of these remarkable human beings are supposedly occupy positions of leadership and influence. These exceptional people are still improving their skills, creativity, and wisdom.

What are some ways to find out if you belong to this unique personality type? If you want to know if you belong to this superb group of individuals, try to answer the following questions:

· Do you feel wise beyond your years?

· Do you have trouble in conforming to the ways of the society?

· Do you perceive the world differently than most people around you?

· Do you feel that you have a greater purpose in life that the world is not evident in other people?

· Do you feel isolated and misunderstood in your beliefs?

· Do you have unusual sensitivities?

If you are a parent, try to establish a closer relationship with your child in order to meet his special needs. You need to understand what is required to have a harmonious relationship with your extraordinary child. Love, tolerance, acceptance and respect will be basic parenting skills you need to raise an Indigo child.

But if it is you who is still wondering whether you belong to this personality type, start embracing the fact that you are a unique person and that you may possibly have an equally unique “calling” or purpose in life. Believe in the fact that here is still something to unfold in yourself.

Indigos are here for a reason; they want to contribute in making a better world...and they make our lives more colorful.

Why casinos need 24 hour day care

Recently in the news across the USA there have been several reports of parents leaving their children locked in their cars, while the parents sit in a casino and gamble.

A great way to stop this from happening would be to legalize online gambling so that parents that can not afford a baby sitter will not do something as stupid as locking a small child in a car alone for several hours.

Another solution would be for the casino industry to take responsibility of the people they lure in with promises of riches beyond belief. If the casinos all offered 24 hour free daycare for all casino players those parents who are so far gone in their addiction will not have to make the decision of what to do with their children, they can just take them to the casino and let them be watched after in the casinos daycare centers.

As well as making sure children are not being neglected by their parents or legal guardians, the children in their care can be checked for signs of abuse and any parent that brings a child regularly to the casino can be talked to about gambling addiction.

Please do not get me wrong I feel the parents should be the ones taking responsibility for their kids, but gambling addiction is a disease, and at least this would provide a way for the government to monitor parents gambling habits, and to provide them with help if they need it.

Besides being the right move for the casinos to make for its own civic duty, it also makes good business sense. If the casinos offer such a service they also open themselves up to single parents that could use a little time for some adult fun, and by making the day care 24 hours a day there is no reason why a parent would leave their kid at home instead of at the casinos free daycare.

The parents could relax and have a little fun with the knowledge that their kids are being taken good care of.

This is not a new concept there are several casinos in Las Vegas that offer day care. These centers offer children of different ages fun things to do, such as all the popular videos, and games fro kids. This will appeal to people with kids. The parents get to gamble and have some adult fun and the kids get to do fun kid stuff.

By doing this the casinos will get more business and they are doing the responsible thing for their customers with gambling problems. I understand that the casinos are a business, but they should make sure that some of their less responsible gamblers do not put their children's lives in danger just to make an extra few dollars in a multi billion dollar a year industry

If enough people recommend this to their local casinos and state officials, casinos could be required by law to provide child care when they are open.

Using buttons and badges in the health care industry

Buttons for hospitals can be a great way to spread motivation, identify people, and help with the healing process. There are a great many uses and fun projects that hospitals can do utilizing buttons. From Public Relations to patient care, buttons can serve you well in a hospital environment.

Any hospital with a children’s ward should have a button maker machine. Children in the hospital are often frightened, disoriented and of course ill. For patients who are able to sit up and draw, button making can help fill those hours between visitors, occupy their mind and make them feel useful. A positive outlook plays a critical role in a patient’s recovery and for children, it is important to inspire creativity to take their minds off their environment. Button making for the children can be both beneficial to their mental health and fun.

Provide a template to a child and some crayons or markers. Family members can bring photos or other flat items to add to the button. The children can be left to their own creativity or a daily or weekly theme can be used. For children who are long term patients, giving them a button to make everyday can ease anticipation and give them something positive to look forward to the next day. This will also help in establishing some form of routine, which in smaller children will help them feel safe in their environment. Completed buttons can be worn by the children, their families, the staff, or displayed on bulletin boards outside the door of their room. Displaying the buttons will make walking the halls interesting and fun for both children and family.

Buttons can be another great gift item in the hospital gift store. These are an inexpensive and easy item to make for sale in the shop. "Congratulations!" in pink or blue on a button for births would be a great idea for the new older brother or sister to purchase for mom. This same button can be added to a stuffed bear or bunny. "It’s a Girl!", "It’s a Boy!", and "Get Well" would all be great sayings for buttons to be added to stuffed animals or cards that are sold in the gift shop. For example, you can post a sign that reads "Buy a Stuffed animal and get a button for only a dollar more." Buttons make great keepsakes and are so inexpensive to produce that even at the price of one dollar you can make a handsome profit for the gift shop.

Buttons for patients and staff are another use for the button making machines. An interesting proposition for the new parents is to have a "New Dad" and "New Mom" button made up for them with the name, birth date, weight and length of their new child. These are great keepsakes for parents to put in baby albums. Proud parents can wear these buttons in the hospital and you can sell additional buttons for their family members such as grandparent’s aunts and uncles. Imagine the pride on a new older brother’s face as he wears a button that reads "Ask me about my new baby sister". These buttons show that you go the extra mile for your patients and their family.

The seven secret skills of seo work

There is a lot of talk on the web regarding Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and how, if you just do this one thing, you will be at the top of Google. If only it were that easy! In fact, I believe there are seven distinct skills that a search engine optimiser needs to possess. Most people possess one or maybe two of these skills, very rarely do people posses all seven. In truth, to get to all seven, people who are good at two of these need to actively develop the other skills. This takes time and effort and, if you are running your own business, do you really have the time to do this?

The seven skills that I believe are necessary for SEO work are:

Web Design – producing a visually attractive page

HTML coding - developing Search Engine friendly coding that sits behind the web design

Copy writing – producing the actual readable text on the page

Marketing – what are the actual searches that are being used, what key words actually get more business for your company?

An eye for detail - even the smallest errors can stop spiderbots visiting your site.

Patience - there is a time lag on any change you make, waiting is a virtue.

IT skills - an appreciation of how search engine programs and the algorithms they use actually work

Many website designers produce more and more eye-catching designs with animations and clever features hoping to entice the people onto their sites. This is the first big mistake; using designs like these may actually decrease your chances of a high Google rating. Yes, that’s right; all that money you have paid for the website design could be wasted because no-one will ever find your site.

The reason for this is that before you get people to your site you need to get the spiderbots to like your site. Spiderbots are pieces of software used by the search engine companies to crawl the Internet looking at all the websites, and then having reviewed the sites, they use complex algorithms to rank the sites. Some of the complex techniques used by web designers cannot be trawled by spiderbots. They come to your site, look at the HTML code and exit stage right, without even bothering to rank your site. So, you will not be found on any meaningful search.

I am amazed how many times I look at websites and I immediately know they are a waste of money. The trouble is that both the web designers and the company that paid the money really do not want to know this. In fact, I have stopped playing the messenger of bad news (too many shootings!); I now work round the problem.

So, optimising a website to be Google friendly is often a compromise between a visually attractive site and an easy to find site. The second skill is that of optimising the actual HTML code to be spiderbot friendly. I put this as different to the web design because you really do need to be “down and dirty” in the code rather than using an editor like FrontPage, which is OK for website design. This skill takes lots of time and experience to develop, and just when you think you have cracked it, the search engine companies change the algorithms used to calculate how high your site will appear in the search results.

This is no place for even the most enthusiastic amateur. Results need to be constantly monitored, pieces of code added or removed, and a check kept on what the competition are doing. Many people who design their own website feel they will get searched because it looks good, and totally miss out this step. Without a strong technical understanding of how spiderbots work, you will always struggle to get your company on the first results page in Google. We actually run seven test domains which are testing different theories with different search engines. Remember that different search engines use different criteria and algorithms to rank your site - one size does not fit all.

Thirdly, I suggested that copy writing is a skill in its own right. This is the writing of the actual text that people coming to your site will read. The Googlebot and other spiderbots like Inktomi, love text – but only when written well in properly constructed English. Some people try to stuff their site with keywords, while others put white writing on white space (so spiderbots can see it but humans cannot).

Spiderbots are very sophisticated and not only will not fall for these tricks, they may actively penalise your site – in Google terms, this is sandboxing. Google takes new sites and “naughty” sites and effectively sin-bins them for 3-6 months, you can still be found but n t until results page 14 – really useful! As well as good English, the spiderbots are also reading the HTML code, so the copy writer also needs an appreciation of the interplay between the two. My recommendation for anyone copy writing their own site is to write normal, well-constructed English sentences that can be read by machine and human alike.

The fourth skill is marketing, after all this is what we are doing – marketing you site and hence company and products/services on the Web. The key here is to set the site up to be accessible to the searches that will provide most business to you. I have seen many sites that can be found as you key in the company name. Others that can be found by keying in “Accountant Manchester North-West England”, which is great, except no-one ever actually does that search. So the marketing

skill requires knowledge of a company’s business, what they are really trying to sell and an understanding of what actual searches may provide dividends.

The next skill is an eye for detail. Even a simple change to a web page can create an error that means the spiderbots will not crawl your site. Recently, I put a link to a page that didn't have at the front of the address. The link still worked but the spiders stopped crawling, and it took my partner to find the error. We have recently invested in a very sophisticated html validator that picks up errors that other validators just fail to see. These errors do not stop the pages displaying correctly to the human eye, but cause massive problems with spiderbots. Almost all the code that I look at on the web using this validator flags major errors, even from SEO companies.

The sixth skill is patience, or is it a virtue! Some people seem to want to make daily changes and then think they can track the web page ranking results the next day. Unfortunately, it can take a week for absolutely correct changes to take effect, in which time you have made six other changes. Add to this Google's

reticence to allow new sites straight on to its listings by adding a waiting factor of, maybe, three months for new sites, and you have a totally uncontrollable situation. We say to all our clients that a piece of SEO work should be looked at like a marketing campaign that runs for six months, since it is only after that time that a true judgement of the effectiveness of the work can be made.

The final and seventh skill is an appreciation of how search engines and algorithms work, for this where both IT and maths experience is useful. People who have programmed at a detailed systems level have a natural feeling for how spiderbots will read a page, what they will search for, what tables they will set up, what weightings they may give to different elements. All of this builds a picture of the database that will be created and how it will be accessed when a search is undertaken. Unfortunately, this skill is the most difficult one to learn as it relies on many years experience of systems programming.

So, in summary, I would say "If it was easy everyone would be doing it!". I hope you will see that professional Search Engine Optimisation companies need more than a bit of web design to improve your business. Make sure anyone you choose for SEO work can cover all the bases.

Getting the best traffic ever

I have subjected articles on the Web for soon a year, and that has as a result the incredible increase in the traffic on my Web site. This increase must with the fact that the visitors who come on my site sought the same key words as the subjects tackled in the articles that I have write.

Moreover, my articles were published in famous ezines which have very many subscribers, which allowed me accoоtre still this traffic. How to write an article which will improve the traffic of your site?

Here 10 strategies which I apply successfully.

1 - Contents run but to High Value

My research in the various supports of publication of articles showed that the majority of the articles contained between 450 and 1000 words, with an optimal length from 700 to 800 words. The majority of my articles contain 1000 to 1200 words, therefore although that constitutes a violation of this rule, the articles marketing meet despite everything a real success.

2 - Attach your Tenders

Many services of tender of articles as the directories of articles enable you to subject an unlimited number of articles per week. Consequently, I intended to say that some of these services had been blacklistйs by the most important directories. For my part, the directories of articles which allow the unlimited tender are dustbins of badly written articles and with the rather hollow contents. The famous banks of articles (those which have a strong credibility and whose articles have contents with high added value) limit usually the number of tenders to 2 per week.

3 - A Gravitational Title

To write a title of gravitational article is the key to generate assistantship. The majority of my articles are “How to make”, or are articles containing of the easy ways and the councils which solve a given problem. For example: “10 best strategies…”, “5 secrecies to create…”, “3 ingredient-keys for…” or “7 errors to be avoided for…”. The generic formula that I employ is a number and a problem which the majority of my market-target meet or a number and a solution with a problem that they have.

4 - Incorporate your Key words

In order to generate traffic on your site, you must include the key words in your title, those with which you want to be found. To maximize the effectiveness of the article, you must employ same key word 3 to 7 times in the contents of the article.

5 - Short Paragraphs

You write for the Web, your paragraphs should not thus exceed 3 sentences each one, and your sentences doivents to be of simple construction. Keep in mind which the reading with the screen is 25% slower than the reading on paper. That wants to say that the stress of the eyes is different according to the support employed. Because many readers have tendency to “scanner rather” contents than reading attentively, divide your article into points numbered to facilitate the reading and comprehension.

6 - Contents with High Added Value

I read an incredible number of drivels and chatterings in the articles Web. I often feel that I waste my time when an article has an enticing title which must solve my problem, but when I click to reach his contents, it does not deliver valid information. It is even more opposing when the article is simply the car-promotion of a product or service. I always try to deliver best information than I have on a subject with my readers. It is a great experiment to establish your expertise, and your target market will buy on your premise when the users the component are ready.

7 - Have a Beginning, middle and an End

Your article must have a paragraph of introduction to announce to the readers what they will find in your article, the body of the article with the contents, and finally a conclusion which summarizes what you said in the article. If you write articles of easy ways with numbered points as I do it, it is important to finish with a paragraph summarizing the contents of the article, rather than to finish with your last easy way. Indeed, considerable editors of directories of articles will refuse to publish it because they will regard it as incomplete.

8 - Limit your URLs

The majority of the publicateurs of articles will refuse to index your article if it contains more than 3 bonds. Most strict of them will refuse to publish any article containing of the bonds of affiliation, or the bonds towards your site, if they are positioned in the body of the article.

9 - Resource Box (In connection with the author)

Resource Box is the commercial aspect which appears at the end of the article for saying to the readers who you are and what you make. Usually, one employs 1 to 2 sentences containing the anchors texts and the address of your Web site. A resource box which invites to pass to the action and to visit your site composes of a short description and a free offer which you make to the reader, usually an audio file to download, a ebook, a report/ratio, or a free formation if it buys such or such product on your site.

10 - Put your Articles on your Web site

The search engines like the contents relevant and rich, then more you have this kind of contents on your site, better you position in the results of research of the engines. I estimated at at least 50% of my weekly traffic generated by research on the key words which I placed in the titles of my articles. I have just reorganized my articles by topic and created a banner page for each one of the latter and a page containing the list of all the articles on this subject. I also placed the complete list of the topics on the left side of each page of my site. I observed an increase in my traffic coming from research on terms “Internet marketing articles” or “time management articles”, these same terms which name whole headings of my site.

In Conclusion

The market that you target needs your expertise! If you employ the strategies which I have just underlined when you write your articles, you will start to observe an increase in your traffic within a very short time.

Fitness while pregnant - is it safe

For many years it was believed that once a woman became pregnant she should just lounge on the couch and rest for hours on end, each and every day. After numerous clinical studies it was found that most women should do quite the opposite.

In most cases, women should continue with their daily routines, and if they are not doing so already, they should begin a regular daily fitness regimen.

It has been found that exercising during pregnancy has numerous beneficial effects. Exercising will give you more energy and stamina, increase your confidence, and give you the extra strength you need for delivering your newborn.

A daily fitness regimen performed by the mother-to-be during pregnancy has also been found to produce a healthier and stronger baby.

An added bonus for those of you dreading those long hours of child labor is that regular exercise during pregnancy has been known to reduce the time frame for this process by about a third. This in itself is a great motivating factor,

since every hour spent in labor can seem like a much longer period of time.

While exercise will undoubtedly help you obtain all these wonderful benefits, there are some guidelines you should follow:

Always consult our physician before beginning any diet and/or exercise regimen. This is to ensure you will be able to do this without causing harm to yourself and your recovering body.

Always start out slowly. Try several activities and do not attempt to perform very strenuous exercises or spend too much time at the gym. Find some exercises or activities you like and enjoy and do them regularly, but try not to exceed more than 30 minutes at a time. If you begin to feel exerted or worn out, stop exercising immediately and rest for a while. The whole purpose of exercising is to help maintain good health and self esteem, not injure or endanger yourself or your unborn.

Avoid high altitudes, extreme humidity, or especially warm temperatures when exercising. Getting overheated is not beneficial to you or our baby, and it could actually cause harm. Be sure you drink plenty of water and keep yourself

hydrated.

Monitor your heart rate, your breathing, and your pulse. This will allow you to observe your progress and notice any limitations you may need to be aware of. Knowing this information and making a note of it while exercising could assist your physician in diagnosing any problems or potential hazards you may face.

While you are in your final trimester, try to avoid any bouncing, jumping, or running. These activities can potentially cause injury to you or your unborn child.

Pregnancy causes many changes for any woman, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Be sure you communicate openly with your partner and your doctor. Keep all of your limitations in mind and never try to exercise more than is reasonable for your stage of pregnancy.

Barcelona europe and affordable unite

The best things in life are free – at least, in Barcelona. A vibrant city famous for its architecture and geographical splendors, Barcelona is also the perfect destination for the frugal traveler looking for a fun trip that won’t force you to remortgage your home.

After the obvious expenses (plane ticket and Barcelona hotel) you can experience this European city without barely cracking open your wallet. That’s because some of the best activities and tourist attractions don’t cost a thing. Visit the parks of Montjuic and La Ciutadella, or stroll the Passeig de Gracia Boulevard and take in the architectural marvels created by the genius Gaudi, without paying a cent. La Rambla, the city’s popular tree-lined boulevard teeming with artists of all kinds, is another wonderful place to enjoy for free. Or, if soaking up the rays is more your inclination, you can enjoy the many beautiful beaches of Barcelona for free as well.

Cheap eats

Delicious food is everywhere in Barcelona. And it doesn’t have to cost a lot, either. Tapas is always a good choice if you want to stretch a buck – the best places are in the Raval area located behind the Boqueria Market. Two can eat here for less than 10 euros. During the day, lunch is the biggest bargain you can find. Restaurants have low-priced lunch menus that don’t skimp on quality or quantity. You’ll get 2 or 3 courses, usually for less than 2 euros, with a glass of wine and coffee or dessert. Most places won’t bother you with the cheque until you ask for it, so you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the food and the view.

What to do

In addition to the street festivals, balladeers, and other cultural events, there are other inexpensive ways to take in a concert and enjoy some good music. Visit the Liceu (the city’s famous opera house) to take in a show. Because they have recently added a cast of new, not-so-famous performers, it’s possible to watch a show for less money than you’d have to spend to see the veterans. Called the “popular cast,” this group of talented artists takes over on the main cast’s night off. Other than the cast – and the price - the show is identical. You can save at least 50% off the regular ticket price for these performances.

An amazing sight every visitor must see is the Sagrada Familia temple. This piece of architectural brilliance is yet another incarnation of the famed Gaudi, but it’s a particularly unique attraction because it’s still under construction. Started in 1882, this building was only partly done when Gaudi died in 1926. Although there has been some controversy over the years as to whether it should be completed, it is expected to be finished by 2020. This is a rare sight you cannot miss.

The best things in life really are free

The best way to enjoy all that Barcelona has to offer is to look around and take in the beauty of the surroundings. The city is indeed very charming and beats to its own drum. There is so much history to explore, architecture to appreciate, and warm people to meet that your biggest problem will be deciding where to begin, and how to end your day. The city, for instance, boasts several medieval palaces, one of which now holds a Picasso museum on Calle Montcada.

When in Barcelona, you’ll notice that the city seems to be constantly rejuvenating itself. Once dilapidated harbors are now gorgeous hotspots off the Riviera. Even the Park Guell (yet another creation sprung from the artistry of Gaudi) contains leftover tiles that were used to create an immense expanse of mosaics. You’ll find new places such as these all over the city – if you’re willing to explore. And you won’t have to pay for the privilege of enjoying your discoveries.

Another way to save money is by using the Barcelona Card, which can be purchased for 2-5 days and costs 23 to 34 euros – and you can buy it online at barcelonaturisme. com to receive an additional 10% discount. The card saves you a lot of money because, once purchased, it grants you free or discounted access to a wide range of museums and other attractions. But the best thing about the card is the fact that it allows you to travel for free around the city on almost all the available public transit (including the airport train) for an unlimited period of time.

For lodging, be sure to book your room in advance as this will no doubt save you a ton of euro.

Barcelona is a treasure trove of culture, art, food, history, and architecture, but it doesn’t have to cost you a pretty penny to soak it all in. This wonderful city has much to offer the traveler who wants to experience Europe minus the usual price tag – so why not plan your next trip to Barcelona?

Zeolite - just a fad or can it really change your life

There's a lot of buzz and hype going around about zeolite, but is it really as great as people are saying it is? I'll admit, I was skeptical too at first. I mean, this product was claiming to help all sorts of health problems, including a huge one that we all face on a daily basis... which you'll read about below. After I read the boatloads of testimonials, scientific evidence, and tried it out for myself though, my skepticism vanished. I believe that more people need to be told about the truths of zeolite, which is why I'll be going over the key points and facts about it in the rest of this article.

So what's the big problem that I was talking about? Toxins. Right now, there are an estimated 100,000 toxins chemicals floating around in our environment, about 25% of which have been known to be cancer-causing. Pretty shocking, right? The fact of the matter is, we are being more and more exposed to these toxins everyday. Whether it be from fluoride and other various chemicals the water we drink, the pesticides in our food, or simply the air we breathe, we definitely have a big problem on our hands here.

A lot of these toxins, like mercury for example, just linger around in our bodies. Day by day and year by year they continue to accumulate. Medical research suggests that as these toxins build up, they can possibly reek havoc on the immune system, hormone balance, enzyme activity, brain function, and cell growth. Not only that, but they can possibly lead to diseases like cancer down the road.

I mean, have you actually thought about how prevalent cancer is in our society now? About one in two men and one in three women will develop it in their lifetime. These lingering toxins and other impurities floating around in our bodies may be the culprit. I don't know about you, but I sure as heck don't want my life being ruined by a bunch of invisible toxic pests... especially if there was something I could do about it. That's where cellular zeolite comes in...

First of all, all this zeolite talk isn't new. It isn't just a big fad that has been conjured up out of nowhere, and I'll tell you why. For many years, centuries actually, zeolite has been used by people all over the world to achieve higher levels of health. So why haven't you heard about it until now? Well, quite frankly, there's a lot of natural health remedies we never hear about in the mainstream. Consider yourself lucky.

Anyway, what cellular zeolite does is basically trap toxins and other heavy metals in its honeycomb-like "cages". Since it's one of the few negatively charged particles in nature, it works at the cellular level much like a magnet. All those nasty impurities and toxins get sucked in, trapped, and then flushed out. And guess what? There are no real side effects except for minor dehydration. A few glasses of water a day solves that real quick.

So how can you get a hold of some? Well, originally, I personally was going to get some powdered zeolite, but found out that was a big no-no. Turns out, a lot of the powdered forms have already attracted some toxins from nature and haven't been cleansed to remove them. So I searched around the net quite extensively and found a product called 'Natural Cellular Defense'.

The zeolite in Natural Cellular Defense is cleansed and "activated" using a patented process that scientists developed. I don't know the exact procedure, but I do know that it completely removes any impurities from the zeolite molecule and makes it up to 20x more potent. The best part? It's liquid based and extremely convenient. All I do is put some drops in a water bottle, drink it throughout the day, and I'm good to go.

Yes, I do have more energy, more focus, more/better sleep, and quite frankly, I just feel great. But that's not the best part. The best part is knowing that my body is clean and I don't have a bunch of junk floating around in it. To know that I have a solid footing against the toxins I'm continually exposed to, and that I'm going to (hopefully:) have a very long and healthy life ahead of me. That's the best part.

I've told tons of people about zeolite and have only gotten more and more positive comments. It's a great feeling knowing that not only have I helped myself, but other people as well. I hope you'll have the same feeling in the future and that this article has aided you in some way. Want more info? Check out one of the links below. If you want to get a hold of some, it's just a few clicks away. All the best!"

Aortic dissection are you at risk

Not all chest pain is alike. It may be mild and attributed to noncardiac problems, including heartburn or stress. Or it may be much more severe and life threatening, such as when it is due to an aortic dissection (tear in the large artery near the heart).

Because aortic dissections are frequently mistaken for other, less serious conditions, even in hospital emergency departments, it is crucial that people know if they are at risk and how to prevent a tragedy.

Aortic dissection is uncommon but not rare, with approximately 5,000 to 10,000 reported occurrences each year. Although the main symptom is usually severe, tearing or "ripping" pain in the chest or lower back, other symptoms include rapid pulse, sweating, nausea, weak or absent pulse and decreased sensation in the limbs. Aortic dissections require immediate medical attention, as they can result in massive internal bleeding and death.

People with hypertension, Turner syndrome (a chromosome disorder) and a family history of aortic disease are at high risk for aortic dissection. Additionally, people with Marfan syndrome are at up to 250 times increased risk because of the fragile connective tissue in their aorta. Many people who have Marfan syndrome, however, are not diagnosed and do not know they may suffer an early sudden death due to aortic dissection.

The National Marfan Foundation (NMF) urges those who display outward signs of the disorder-including a tall stature with disproportionately long arms and legs, indented or protruding chest bone, flat feet, long fingers and toes and eye problems-to be evaluated. Medications, surgery and lifestyle adaptations can help prevent a deadly dissection.

Diane Sixsmith, M. D., chair, Emergency Medicine Department, New York Hospital, Queens, advises people who are prone to aortic dissection to take extra precautions. "Early diagnosis and treatment are key to survival for those who are predisposed to aortic dissection," she says. "If you are in a high-risk group, and especially if you have Marfan syndrome, don't wait for a tragedy to find you. Patients who have regular echocardiograms and who take medicine to slow the heart rate and the pulse do very well, and preventive surgery (before the aorta dissects) has a greater than 98 percent success rate."

Pet insurance what to look for

Keeping a pet is a rewarding experience which many of us enjoy, but it can also be expensive. As well as all the routine costs such as food and grooming, you can also come up against unplanned expenses such as vetinary bills through sickness or accident. These bills can unfortunately be very high, so to ensure that their pets can get the treatment they need many people decide that taking out pet insurance is a sensible way of helping to cushion these costs. But what should you be looking for in a pet insurance policy?

The first thing to consider is what kind of pet you have. The cheapest kind of pet insurance is that for the most common pets - cats and dogs. Prices for these policies can be very reasonable indeed, amounting to only the cost of a few tins of pet food a month. If, however, you keep a more unusual kind of animal as a pet, then the price you pay may well be higher. Make sure that any policy you take out specifically includes your kind of pet, as many will exclude more 'exotic' kinds of animal.

The main reason for considering pet insurance is cover for medical treatment, but there are some exclusions that you need to be aware of. Firstly, your policy will almost certainly not cover routine treatments such as vaccinations, flea control, or worming. Secondly, you won't be covered for any pre-existing conditions that were already known about when you took out the policy (you should also declare any existing conditions when you take out the policy, or you risk it being declared invalid when you come to make a claim).

You also need to check your policy for claim limits: there may be a time limit of cover, so for example a long-term condition such as arthritis may only be covered for a period of 12 months, after which you will be responsible for meeting the bills. There is also usually a limit to the total cost of medical bill claims you make in any one year, but this is usually high enough to cover almost any conceivable situation.

Another major reason for taking out insurance is to help you cover the costs of getting your pet back if it goes missing. Most policies will contribute towards advertising in local newspapers etcetera, and also to providing reward money for the safe return of your pet.

Another very important part of your insurance cover is public liability, especially for dog owners. Even the calmest and most well behaved of pets could possibly cause damage to someone's property, or even cause an injury to a person. In this thankfully rare event, you could be open to huge legal bills and compensation claims - make sure that your policy includes a substantial amount of third party liability cover as standard.

Finally, check whether the policy you're considering places a limit on the age of your pet. Many policies are only available to, for example, cats up until the age of eight years. As it is in later years that your pet is most likely to need treatment, it obviously makes sense to ensure your policy will cover this, especially if your pet has a few years under their belt!

Hiring a professional wedding planner the advantages

Have you ever wondered why Jennifer Lopez had made such a great impact on her movie, "The Wedding Planner?" This is because most people, after watching the film, had finally realized the importance of hiring a wedding planner.

Long before, most couples are having second thoughts on the idea of hiring a wedding planner. They have doubts if hiring the services of a wedding planner is really worth their money, especially those who are in a tight budget.

Basically, hiring the services of a wedding planner is actually a matter of choice and personal preference. If you think that you and your fiancй can handle most of the wedding planning without any burden, then, go on with your plans.

But if you think that doing all the planning from the very beginning is already tedious, then, it is time for you to hire the services of a wedding planner.

Basically, a wedding planner is someone who is adept and knowledgeable when it comes to wedding plans. Wedding planners have already established their contacts with many businesses that are important in the wedding such as flower arrangers, caterers, venues, etc.

So, for most people who are not yet aware the benefits they can derive from hiring a wedding planner, here are some facts that you need to know:

1. Hiring a wedding planner will save you time.

Planning a wedding can be a daunting task. It can even be more tedious if the person who plans the wedding is a participant also like the bride or the groom. It can be really difficult to have an open mind especially with all the jitters and everything.

Moreover, planning a wedding does not happen overnight. Usually, it would take you 200 to 300 hours of planning, thinking, and brainstorming. Hence, to save you time and effort, it is best to hire the services of a wedding planner.

2. More savings

Many people contend that the reason why they do not hire a wedding planner is that it will be an additional cost on their part.

What they do not know is that hiring the services of a wedding planner can actually save you more money because most of the wedding planners have already established solid contacts with some of the common wedding businesses like flower arrangers, venues, and the like. Therefore, discounts are more likely to happen because they have their own connections already.

3. Organized planning

With wedding planners, weddings can be more organized because most wedding planners are very particular from the biggest down to the last details of the wedding.

After all, it is their job so they know what should be done best.

Moreover, wedding planners have actual timeline that they follow in order to have all the details be ready on time or even way ahead of time, leaving all the last-minute changes behind.

4. The decisions are still yours

With wedding planners, the decisions are still with the couple. The wedding planner will just guide, render some suggestions, and assist the couple in making the decision.

Hence, the couple will be able to, still, have their own style and preference with regards to the planning of their wedding.

5. Confidence boosters

One of the best things about wedding planners is that they act as confidence boosters for the bride and the groom.

We all know how jittery and edgy wedding couples can be especially if they are in a rush or having trouble finding the perfect item for their wedding. But wedding planner, they will be more at ease and more confident that their wedding will be perfect because they know that they have laid the details of their wedding upon the hands of a professional.

Indeed, there could be no better person who really knows the ins and outs of wedding planning more than what the wedding planner can do.

So, for great weddings, it is best to hire the services of a wedding planner.

Propecia a path for hair growth

A hair loss from 20 -35 strands daily is normal and common occurrence. The problem rises when there is an excessive shedding, for this may result in complete baldness in no time. It is when thinning hair become obvious, most people become concerned about hair restoration process. And in anxiety or depression they begin experimenting with different products.

It is a fact that 90% of hair loss is due to genetic problem and the rest is due to some metabolic dysfunction that goes inside our body. But medical science has successfully proved that through proper medication one can not only stop hair loss but also regrew them to some extent.

One of the main reasons of hair loss is due to secretion of a hormone called Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It shrinks the hair follicles and decreases the amount of hair on head. So when there is an increase in DHT secretion a human head begins loosing hair and once the DHT level in the scalp decreases, the cycle of hair loss stops and in many cases new growth of hair resumes.

This is what Propecia does, decreasing the amount of DHT from our scalp. The main ingredient in Propecia is Finasteride. It directly inhibits the formation of DHT and over a period of considerable amount of time, it reduces the level of DHT sufficiently, minimizing its effects on our hair follicles.

As with any drug, finasteride can also cause side effects to a minority of users. The FDA trials reported a 2% incidence of varying side effects but these tends to cease as the body gets adjusted to the drug after a period of time. Some of its side affects or symptoms are skin rash, or swelling of lips.

Propecia is available only on prescription. So the best thing to do is to consult your dermatologist before using it and do not share this drug with others.

Seo for search engines or humans

SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, is something that many webmasters are now obsessing over. Many web site owners are spending countless hours tweaking and modifying their web sites, adding keyword rich content, and spending hours obtaining back links, so that their site will rank higher in search engines. It is true that over 90% of all web surfers use search engines to visit sites on a regular basis, but should web masters and web site designers build and tweak sites for search engines, or for their visitors?

The answer to this question is that when you build a web site, you are not targeting web search engine crawlers, you are targeting people and human visitors. Hence, you should build a web site for humans, not search engines. The whole purpose to create a web site is so that you can get traffic. Without traffic, a web site is worthless. No matter how many features and how functional your site is, without traffic, your design and functionality do not matter. Although search engines can help bring in traffic, web sites that are designed for search engines, are often not designed for human visitors and all the traffic that your web site gets will be worthless. Visitors will visit and then soon leave your web site and not return again. Return visitors are critical for the success of any web site.

One good example of optimizing for search engines purely is some webmasters tend to stuff tons of keywords into the Meta-Tags; this is a very bad practice and will get the site blacklisted. Moreover, this black hat technique does not benefit the users.

Hence, when building a web site, one should build it for human visitors. If you have articles that are too keyword dense, the quality of the writing will not be as high as it should, and quite frankly, many of your visitors will be annoyed if you keep using words such as “mesothelioma” or “home insurance loan” to get your web site high in the search rankings for these terms. They will leave your web site and most likely not return. If you create a web site where content is created for people to read and is well written, chances are you will get many return visitors who like the quality of the content you provide and come back frequently to read any new content you may have added. The more people that visit and link to your web site, the more popular it well become and naturally, it will be ranked higher in search engines.

Also, rather than spending hours building links for SEO purposes, that time could be better spent on adding features to your web site which would prompt more people to return to your site and stay at your web site for a longer period of time.

In conclusion, although spending lot of time on SEO and increasing your search engine rankings in the short run, the visitors you get from your SEO efforts will not be valuable as chances are they will not visit again. If you build your web sites for people, your traffic will grow and search engine rankings will rise naturally. Hence, the best way to build a successful web site is to build for people and allow your web site to naturally move up search engine rankings.

Beer brewing traditional in europe

Beer brewing in Europe continues to be a serious traditional business. For thousands of years, Europe has been a leader in brewing this popular beverage. Many countries have perfected distinctive beers; some are like mythological ambrosia. Maintaining the quality of centuries-old recipes, many brewers realise that their strength lies in maintaining tradition over promoting innovation. Not to say there aren’t several breweries experimenting with new flavours, but mostly they leave the newfangled risk-taking to the Americans. Why fix and change that which is not broken?

To promote the preservation of European beer culture, several countries have banded together to create organizations such as the European Beer Consumers’ Union (EBCU). This union was founded in Bruges in 1990 with three founding members: Campaign for Real Ale of Great Britain, Objectieve Bierproevers of Belgium and PINT of the Netherlands. It sounds like a Monty Pythonesque union with contrived names, but it is a legitimate one with twelve countries as members: the above three, plus Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and France.

Their aims are simple: preserve European beer culture, its traditions, beer brewing and breweries; promote traditional beers; support the consumption of traditional beers; and represent European drinkers in a campaign for choice, quality and value. This is not the only pro-quality beer organization in Europe. Others include the Guinness 1759 Society, the British Guild of Beer Writers, and the Brothers of Beer.

The continued production of traditional beers has added one innovation to its traditional facade: beer tours. Beertrips. com, founded in 1998, promotes many beer-tasting experiences in countries like Belgium, France, England, Germany and Austria. If you are interested in experiencing Germany’s beers, for example, there is a 10-day tour of Munich’s Fruhlingsfest and Bavarian Country Breweries. A personal favourite is the Brewers and Distilleries of Scotland tour. Check the website for details.

Each country in Europe seems to have a beer type focus. In Ireland, they continue to promote their stout beers. Stout is thick and heavy, with an earthy, full-bodied taste. They sell lagers and ales, but the focus and specialty is on beers like Guinness. The Guinness brewery was bought and opened in 1759 in Dublin, Ireland by Arthur Guinness. The original stout is strong and bitter-tasting.

In Spain, lager is the most popular. Spanish lagers are a touch stronger than other countries’ lager offerings. Two of their most popular beers are Especial and Extra. Especial is a pilsner beer, quite light in colour and taste while Extra is a pale lager.

Alas, until recently, Sweden had been a beer desert for decades. Their people have choked and sputtered for more to slake their thirst, all to no avail. Histrionics aside, it was the rigidly-controlled regulations for beer brewing that depleted this country’s brewers. Since Sweden joined the European Union in 1995, its regulations have grown more lax and the country has transformed itself from a desert to a vibrant and diverse beer culture. The industry in Sweden imports from many other countries; this has inspired a search for their own beer identity. How better to discover a beer identity than to try many things to see what works for the people of the country?

In Holland, the industry continues to produce their own phylum of beer: Bierbok. A good version of this type of beer is difficult to produce. Bokbier is a 16th century beer from Bavaria that has endured and been perfected. It is dark in colour (red-brown to black), sweet on the tongue with a mixture of bittersweet flavours, such as toffee, raisins, licorice, coffee, and chocolate. These are not ingredients, but flavours. It is a beer strong in alcohol with an alcohol percentage of 6.5% to 8%.

When applied to beer brewing, history and tradition are not necessarily dusty, boring or dry like old history books or documents. Thousands of years ago, beer was a product in development; it was new and ever-changing. Beer brewing traditions live on and interest drinkers because of the exceptional tastes developed over centuries, not in spite of history and tradition.

Assume nothing spell it out

37 years ago today, America landed the Apollo 11 lunar module upon Earth's moon. For those of us old enough to remember this event we have that day permanently etched in our memories. On that date I was an almost 11 year old kid taking a summer clarinet class -- we interrupted our squeakings and honkings to watch the events unfold on a black and white television as they happened.

So, why am I saying all of this? Am I attempting to mark the occasion for some reason? Well, yes and no. Truly, in the course of human history man's landing on the moon was a big event. Talk about going where no man had gone before! Yet, I also realize that the vast number of people alive today have no recollection of the event. Figure that anyone under the age of 42 or 43 remembers nothing about the first moon landing. Subsequent landings perhaps, but maybe not the first one in 1969. Furthermore, we haven't been back to the moon in over 30 years. How many people alive today only know about these events via the history books?

Okay, I am no longer young but I haven't quite hit the jurassic era either. Still, when writing about events of long ago there is one thing that I must remind myself of regularly: don't assume that people know what you are talking about. This is true for whatever types of writings you do: spell out acronyms, expound your thoughts, and make it crystal clear to your readers what you are conveying. Your readership may be a lot younger, much less informed, or simply unable to grasp what you are trying to say. Give them background information even when it seems as if they should know what you are writing about.

Music for the restless mind

The origin of music as of late has not yet been dated as it is said to have been existent long before recorded history. Historians say it may hav originated from naturally occuring sounds like the sound of thunder, or the rhythm of a flowing stream. Human music may have started from primitive men trying to mimic these sounds using patterns, repetition, and tonality. Even at present, certain cultures utilize music that imitate naturally occuring sounds. Apart from the usual bird song and animals tapping on hollowed logs to mark their territory, man's voice is said to be the first musical instrument.

Music, in the olden days, was said to have been used mainly for shamanistic practices and beliefs,. Apart from religious practices, it was also used for entertainment and/or practical functions. Music is present during times of feasts and festivities, it is used as a form of praise and worship. Men and women also used it to while away idle time. Hunters used music to lure animals right into their traps. Music has served a lot of function in primitive society.

Due to music's functionality to sharmanism, it was believed that music's main use was to be a means of communication to the spirit world. Primitive people believed that spirits of different beings: nature, animal, or men, play vital roles in human lives. People also used to believe that their physical well-being is connected to the spirit, that illnesses and diseases were related to an imbalance in the harmony of the body and soul. Shamans, or what we call witch doctors in present times, were the healers, gurus and magicians of their tribe. They are responsible for getting rid of illnesses by uttering chants, singing, dancing, meditating and drumming.

At present times, music is still being used as a form of therapy to provide stress relief and treat people with anxiety disorders among other mental conditions. It is more popularly known as music therapy. The form of therapy is at least as old as the writings of Aristotle. It was first administered during World War 1 and 2 where community musicians would visit hospitals to play for physically and emotionally traumatized soldiers. Simply put, music therapy is the use of music by a trained professional to achieve therapeutic goals. These therapeutic goals may include: promoting wellness, managing stress, alleviating pain, expressing feelings, enhancing memory, improving communication and promoting physical rehabilitation.

Recent studies have shown that listening to music during an anxiety attack can help calm the person down. This proves most efficient for patients experiencing anxiety prior to undergoing surgery. It is the most easily administered, inexpensive, non-invasive, non-threatening tool to calm preoperative anxiety.

Music is an incredibly powerful form of expression. It combines words and melodies to get messages across. Some songs may trigger different happy or sad memories in your mind. This is the strongest proof that music affects human emotions. Giving people with anxiety disorders a creative outlet such as music may be a good way for sufferers to, little by little, let out the source of their anxieties and alleviate patients’ moods.

Healthy individuals may use music therapy as a form of stress relief through active music making. The exercise includes drumming and using the guitar to make sounds. The passive approach requires listening for relaxation. Music can also be used as accompaniment during exercise like calisthenics, yoga, or tai chi.

Music has also been proven helpful to improve memory and motor skills for children in special classes. This also helps strengthen children's non-musical functions such as their communication skills and physical coordination skills required for daily life.

Music has been very helpful for everyday living. From the primitive caveman to the modern scientists, everybody would agree in saying music is indeed the food for the soul, and in this therapy, for the mind and body as well.
